In my childhood days, I loved all the different flavors of iced tea. As an adult, I follow a clean clean lifestyle as much as possible -I try to avoid extra sweeteners to my food, choosing instead to add fresh food and herbs.
One of the best ways to keep healthy and rejuvenate and help my body is to run efficiently is to make sure I am drinking enough water during the day. One tasty way to increase the amount of water I am drinking is to make a healthy iced tea recipe.
I have found a new flavor combination, I love lemon basil iced tea. This is the perfect iced tea recipe for me. I wanted to get ready to entertain this monsoon, not only with food but also with drinks. It’s so easy to make at home, no need to spend money and buy it at the store.
1 bag of my favorite brand tea
4 cups of boiling water
1 cup of raw cane sugar
1 lemon (sliced)
juice of the half lemon
6 large basil leaves
How I make Iced Basil tea:
I started boiling 4 cups of water. I added the water to a pitcher. I added in the teabag and steeped it for about 5 minutes.
In a saucepan, I mixed one cup of water and one cup of raw cane sugar. I boiled until a lump of sugar has dissolved.
I added this water to the tea to sweeten. I added lemon slices, lemon juice, and basil leaves.
I put it in the fridge and cool completely. I served over ice cubes.
The combination of tart lemon and sweet basil is so yummy and goes great in this iced tea. I am just enjoying the refreshing iced tea recipe change up my pace of drinking plain water to keep me hydrated.
